Public Health Curriculum (MPH-General)
The Master’s of Public Health (MPH-General) program at Select College is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of public health principles and practices. The curriculum is carefully crafted to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address public health challenges at local, national, and global levels. Epidemiology: This course focuses on the study of disease patterns and their determinants in populations. Students will learn how to design and conduct epidemiological studies, analyze data, and interpret findings. The objective is to enable students to identify and control disease outbreaks, assess public health interventions, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
Biostatistics: This course provides students with a solid foundation in statistical methods used in public health research. Students will learn how to analyze health data, interpret statistical results, and apply statistical techniques to public health problems. The objective is to equip students with the skills to critically evaluate research studies and design their own studies.
Health Policy and Management: This course explores the development, implementation, and evaluation of health policies and programs. Students will learn about health systems, policy analysis, and strategic management in public health organizations. The objective is to enable students to effectively advocate for public health policies, manage public health programs, and navigate the complexities of the healthcare system.
Environmental Health: This course examines the impact of environmental factors on human health. Students will learn about environmental risk assessment, exposure assessment, and environmental health policy. The objective is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to identify and mitigate environmental health hazards, promote environmental sustainability, and protect vulnerable populations.
Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health: This course explores the social, cultural, and behavioral factors that influence health outcomes. Students will learn about health behavior theories, health promotion strategies, and community engagement. The objective is to enable students to design and implement effective health promotion interventions, address health disparities, and foster community partnerships.
Global Health: This course provides students with an understanding of global health challenges and the strategies to address them. Students will learn about global health governance, infectious diseases, and health systems in low-resource settings. The objective is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to contribute to global health initiatives, engage in cross-cultural collaborations, and promote health equity worldwide.
In addition to these core courses, students will have the opportunity to choose elective courses based on their interests and career goals. The curriculum also includes a capstone project or internship, where students can apply their knowledge and skills to real-world public health challenges.

For MA candidates
If you have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, pharmacy or related health school fields you are the primary candidate. If you have a degree in social science or humanities or other background, you need to keep in mind that you may need to take take few bridging courses to compensate your background academic gap.

BA in Management Tuition Fee
The Total Tuition fee for the four years BA program in Economics is ETB 43,200 for both regular and evening programs. This amount do NOT include your stationary and other related expenses. In addition, it should be noted that the college may increase the tuition fee based on the annual inflation analysis.
As we are currently developing a 100% online program, the tuition fee for the Online program would be posted here once it is launched.
Tuition fee installments
You can pay your total tuition fee according to your choice of our two installment mechanisms. At registration, you will be given the choice to select either to make payments on monthly basis or on Credit hours basis.
- If you would like to make your payments on monthly basis, the monthly tuition fee would be ETB 1,800 to be paid for 24 months within four years period (ETB 1,800 x 24 Months = ETB 43,200).
- If you would like to make your payments on Credit Hours basis, the Credit hour
tuition fee would be ETB 1,440 per Credit Hour. The total credit hours prescribed in the curriculum is 30 Credit Hours to be offered within four years period. Thus, (ETB 1,440 x 30 Credit Hours = ETB 43,200).
Payment Method
You can make your payment in three different ways:
- Pay cash at our campus cashiers
- Deposit to one of our Commercial Bank of Ethiopia or Awash or Anbessa bank accounts that would be notified with admission letter.
- Pay electronically using payment methods such as TeleBirr,as indicated in your admission letter.
