Pharmacy Curriculum (Bachelor Degree)
The BSc in Pharmacy program at Select College is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical sciences and prepare them for a successful career in the field of pharmacy. Course Objectives:
Develop a strong foundation in basic sciences: The program begins with courses in chemistry, biology, and physics to provide students with a solid understanding of the fundamental principles that underpin pharmaceutical sciences.
Understand the principles of drug action: Students will learn about the mechanisms of drug action, including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism. This knowledge is essential for understanding how drugs interact with the human body.
Study pharmaceutical formulation and manufacturing: The curriculum includes courses on pharmaceutical formulation, dosage forms, and manufacturing processes. Students will gain practical knowledge on how to develop and produce safe and effective medications.
Learn about drug delivery systems: Students will explore various drug delivery systems, including oral, topical, and parenteral routes. They will understand the factors influencing drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion.

For BSc candidates
If you would like to join our Bachelor of Science Degree program in the Department of Pharmacy, you should have a diploma, another Bachelor degree or a high school completion certificate with a required passing marks or cumulative grade point average (CGPA). These are the marks which are set annually by the Ministry of education.

BSc in Pharmacy Tuition Fee
The Total Tuition fee for the four years BSc degree program in Pharmacy is ETB 54,000 for both regular and evening programs. This amount do NOT include your stationary and other related expenses. In addition, it should be noted that the college may increase the tuition fee based on the annual inflation analysis.
As we are currently developing a 100% online program, the tuition fee for the Online program would be posted here once it is launched.
Tuition fee installments
You can pay your total tuition fee according to your choice of our two installment mechanisms. At registration, you will be given the choice to select either to make payments on monthly basis or on Credit hours basis.
- If you would like to make your payments on monthly basis, the monthly tuition fee would be ETB 1200 to be paid for 45 months within four years period (ETB 1200 x 45 Months = ETB 54,000).
- If you would like to make your payments on Credit Hours basis, the Credit hour
tuition fee would be ETB 400 per Credit Hour. The total credit hours prescribed in the curriculum is 135 Credit Hours to be offered within four years period. Thus, (ETB 400 x 135 Credit Hours = ETB 54,000).
Payment Method
You can make your payment in three different ways:
- Pay cash at our campus cashiers
- Deposit to one of our Commercial Bank of Ethiopia or Awash or Anbessa bank accounts that would be notified with admission letter.
- Pay electronically using payment methods such as TeleBirr,as indicated in your admission letter.
